It’s Khao Larm

The classic sticky rice roasted in a bamboo joint and Thai people call “ Khao Larm ” Khao larm made from glutinous rice that stream within Bamboo joint.

Have you ever taste Khoa Larm ?

It’s very delicious ,a taste is soft , sweet ,good smell from natural membrane of bamboo. Khoa larm is the one of the popular souvenir of Thai traveler for give their friends , and family . Many Provinces in Thailand is a specialist for sticky rice bamboo streamer as Nong Mon – Chonburi , Prapathom chedi – Nakornpatom,Chachengsao,Nakornnayok,etc.

How do they cook sticky rice bamboo ?

This is an original process to cook Khaolarm .The First step : To prepare a fresh & clean bamboo joint , soak glutinous about 6 hrs , fresh coconut milk , dry coconut husk that wrap by banana leaf for a cap to close end of bamboo ,some salt & sugar ,not forget a oven to roast bamboos.
After prepare all in above then go to The second step : To mix coconut milk with some salt and sugar for good mellow tasted flavored  and put soak sticky rice in bamboo .To pour a mix flavor coconut milk by high over soak sticky rice a little bit and close by a nature cap ( coconut husk warp by banana leaf )
The third step : To put all bamboo that contain from second step on the oven then roast about 1-2 hr . Now we can get a delicious Khao Larm.

To look easy but more tricks to cook Khao Larm for good taste .

The shadow of earth shine on part of moon that we can see moon look like smile lips and position of  Venus and Jupiter are look like the 2 eyes . So Earth shine phenomenon look like s smiley face above Thailand Sky . And it’s match slogan that Thailand is land of Smile .This Earth shine phenomenon is going to happen about 44 years once.

Welcome to Thailand to joint a colorful night festival in November again. Loi krathong is the one of the famous activity of THAILAND.

 Have you ever jointed Loy Krathong ?

Loi Krathong Festival is held on the full moon night of 12th month in thai lunar calendar that usually in November . The meaning of Loy Krathong  that come from 2 Thai wordings  which Loy means Float and Krathong means small basket that made from a natural leaf  or small bowl that can put somethings inside .So Loy Krathong is a float basket that decorate with a beautiful flowers , candle and insense stick . 

Only one night in year ,the traveler can see a lot of small lighting from candles to put in a colorful flower basket that float on the river . :-)

Thai people usually celebrate Loi krathong  night with a funny party .There are a lot of amusement activities ,big wheel , children merry go round , child gun game , Music , and more . Not only a funny fair but Thai people believe Loy Krathong is a traditional for respect goddess of water that we call “Pra mea kong kha “ .we will ask for forgiveness that we make no good with god of water example : use water for wash and dispose a dirty water to river ,etc. So we have to apologise goddess of water .

Have you ever joint to build Sand Chedi or Koh Pra Chedi Sai ก่อพระเจดีย์ทราย  ( Thai language )  ?

This is a one activity that Thai people will be do in important Festival at the temple example : Songkran , Koah Pansa , New Year Ceremony in Temple . We call this activities is “ Koh Pra Chedi Sai “ . By meaning “ Koh maen Create or build “ , “ Pra Chedi  mean Chedi or Stupa “ , and “Sai mean  Sand “ . So Koh Pre Chedi Sai  mean to Creat or build Chedi by sand  . Now this activities is rare to found in local Thailand  because this is the old traditional of Thai people who do in the special occasion that old generation in Thailand create this tactic for the next generation to follow up . ก่อพระเจดีย์ทราย

They try to compensate a sand when they take the sand out of Temple ,after they went to temple ,sand may be stick with shoes when they back  home . A little bit sand in one time but many times in one year so it will be accumulate to a big quantities .So sand in temple have to lose in big quantity .

Thai Bhudist  who respect the temple would like to bring a big quantity sand return to temple and ……..

How do they do ?

 

Buddist  think try to find out the method  how the sand back to Temple .They think the tactic by  they will be held the creat sand chedi  tradition with the enjoy and funny activity in Temple ,Somewhere there are a contest of build sand chedi .
